299 forged passports seized at Dubai airport

A total of 299 forged passports were seized in less than six months at Dubai International Airport, said senior official from the ministry interior.
A team of 74 officials at the Passport Control section at the airport seized the forged passports preventing the holders of those passports from entering or leaving the country.
Sergeant Aisha Ali Salimin, an official at Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department (DNRD) who works at the Passport Control section at the airport seized about 16 forged passports. Due to her alertness, Sgt Aisha was honoured by Brigadier Mohammad Ahmad Al Merri, Director General, DNRD.

Security
Brigadier Al Merri also honoured 73 other officials from the Passport Control section for their efficiency in perceiving forgery of travel documents during the first six months of the year.
Brig Al Merri said the 299 forged passports were seized in less than six months.
"The DNRD team had worked together with other authorities at the airport to ensure top service and security," he added.
Also six officials from the Department of Civil Aviation were awarded for their efforts to increase security at the airport. Source
