Two cops in court for mugging visitor

The Dubai Court of First Instance yesterday heard the case in which two policemen have been charged with mugging an Indian visitor.
As per the court records, 32-year-old policeman, N.S.H (an Omani national), and 29-year-old policeman, F.M.A (a Yemeni), approached the 33-year-old Indian visitor, T.R.G, a liquor dealer, at around 9.30am on October 14 last, while the latter was talking to one his friends. On seeing the policemen approaching them, the friend fled the scene, leaving T.R.G alone.

The two policemen then tied up the victim’s right hand to a pick-up vehicle parked nearby, frisked him, and took out his wallet which had Dh510 at the time.

The two also took away some liquor bottles of the victim before freeing him and ordering him to leave the scene right away. However, the victim reported the matter to the police.
Later, the Dubai Police, based on the description provided by the man, arrested the two policemen, who later confessed to their crime.
