Lessons end up in court

A guitar teacher who used to give lessons to children went on trial at the Dubai Court of First Instance yesterday, charged with sexually molesting one of his 15-year-old students while she was learning to play the instrument.

The 51-year-old Sri Lankan denied the charge, saying that the Croatian teenager agreed to their sexual encounter. According to police records, the teenager’s parents went out, leaving the girl alone with her teacher at the family home in Bur Dubai.“We left the house, but after two hours we received a call saying that her teacher had sexually molested her,” the girl’s father said. The victim’s mother told the prosecution that when they returned back home the girl was upset, confused, afraid and crying.A verdict in the case will be issued later this month. Source
